Getting Back to Normal

This week is the first week that Freddie's back at work and I have the girls on my own. So far, it's gone pretty well. Madalynn is a good helper, although she still has trouble understanding that there are certain things that she can't do, like put her plastic hamburger from her kitchen in Emmaline's mouth. But she's learning.

Emmy is doing really well. She's gradually spending more time awake during the day, and it's been over a week that she stayed awake during the night. We're already seeing differences between her and Maddy at this age. Maddy has always fought going to sleep, but Emmy will wake, eat, and then go right back out. But Maddy has always been very interested in her surroundings, where Emmy will wake, eat, and then go right back out.

We've also been just as blessed with people's thoughtfulness and generosity this time as we were with Maddy. We've only had to buy one package of diapers because we've been given so many, and Emmy has her own toys, books, blankets, and clothes that people have given her. Just yesterday, Freddie brought home a gift from his work. It was an extremely nice blanket made out of minkie fabric and 3 burp clothes with minkie fabric on them.

Tonight, Uncle Bryan came over for dinner and to spend some time with his nieces.

He spent some time cooking with Maddy in her kitchen, playing Candy Land, and just hanging out feeding Emmy. He and Emily are expecting their first child in August, and they are so excited! They're going to be fantastic parents!

Other than that we've just spent time hanging out around the house. Freddie and the girls played with some of Maddy's stuffed animals, and Emmy seems to like her blue chair.
