Maddy had her first swim lesson today. Her teacher is really nice and patient, and Maddy felt very comfortable with her. Maddy can put her face in the water for up to 10 counts. She's also learning "princess" kicks with straight legs. We're going to buy her a pair of goggles to help her feel more comfortable putting her face in the water. This was her teacher's suggestion.
Maddy was nervous this morning about swimming so we made a deal. If she was a good listener all day and really tried at her lessons, she can pick out a toy when we go shopping this weekend. There's a princess and carriage she's been wanting--go figure, my daughter wants another princess. :)
Emmy had fun hanging out in her float while big sister swam. She and I just walked back and forth in the pool for 30 minutes so I was able to get some exercise too. Maddy said she's looking forward to next week so she can kick some more. We're going to take her to the pool a few times this week so she can practice.
