We got back in Saturday evening. My mom didn't come with us because she wants some time to rest at home. I appreciate the cards, flowers, emails, and comments. Thank you.
The viewing for my dad was held Thursday evening. Many friends and family members came to say good-bye to him and talk with my mom. Maddy was on a roll that night, completely wound up in a new environment. Freddie took her out to play several times. Emmy, true to form, slept through most of it.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon. It was in military fashion with a flag on the casket, cadets on either side, and Taps played at the end. My dad's friends from the Commemorative Air Force arranged a fly-over at the end of the service. He will be missed by many people.
