One of our tortoises, Barney, has escaped. The gate was left open (grrr, DirectTV guy) and he wandered out into the free world. Our neighbors helped Freddie look last night but Barney was nowhere to be found. I'm going to look around a little more this morning to see if he was hiding somewhere, but I think he's gone for good. I'm guessing he got out and someone saw him. It's not like the tortoises have dog tags (turtle tags?) or anything so no one would know who one belonged to and would probably just take them home for a new pet. I hope that's the case at least.
So Barney if we don't find you today, good luck wherever you are. You've been a really cool pet, and we're all going to miss you.
