Sea World

Last Thursday we drove down to San Antonio to spend the weekend with Freddie's sister Lisa. On Friday Lisa took the day off work so she could go with us to Sea World. This was the first time the girls had been, and Madalynn was extremely excited. One of the first things we did was feed the dolphins. Maddy did a great job, and Emmy was very entertained.

Emmy was absolutely mesmerized by the sharks. She kept watching them swim back and forth and didn't make a noise.

As we were walking by a grassy area outside, two of the workers brought out this python and let it go on the grass. I think Maddy was a little disappointed because she didn't get to touch it.

We stopped to check Maddy's height to see what rides she could go on. She just missed two of the water rides. There was really only one ride she could go on, and she kept asking all day when she would get to do it.

Here's Emmy checking her height.

The Shamu show was great. It had been a while since I had been to Sea World, and the show had changed quite a bit.
While we were walking to the next event, we spotted a sulcata tortoise in a pen. He was at least two feet long so he's definitely bigger than Barney. It was cool to see what Barney will look like in a few years.

We stopped to see the sea lions. The show was still an hour away so we didn't wait around, but Maddy did get to feed the sea lions.
While Maddy was feeding the sea lions, Emmy decided it was time for her nap.
After that, we headed over to the little kids area so Maddy could play. She climbed up the cargo net and then saw there was a sand pit below. She spent some time playing in the sand before we took her over to the Shamu ride. It was a mini roller coaster that took kids around in a circle twice. Maddy was in heaven! She felt like such a big kid getting to ride the roller coaster. She went on it at least 5 times.

We were going to go to the water park, but storm clouds started rolling in so we decided to head back to Lisa's. The rest of the weekend we just hung out with Lisa and let the girls play.
