Disney World, Part 1

You're more fun than I'd imagined.

Our holiday has been brightened.

We went to a different
Park each day.
For a week and a half
the kids got to play.

This Thanksgiving was a special one. We planned a big vacation to Disney World with Freddie's mom and dad, his sister, and his brother and his family. We had a total of twelve going--five kids and seven adults. Fred and his brother began their overnight drive to Florida after Thanksgiving dinner. Their job was to make sure all the luggage (and we had an amazing amount of luggage) got there. The rest of us left on Friday.

The airplane ride went pretty smoothly, I thought. The kids seemed to be entertained for the most part, and the two babies (Brecken and my nephew Cameron) did well with minimal fussing. Freddie and his brother Bryan had arrived at Disney earlier than they had expected so they spent part of the day checking things out before unloading the car.



We stayed at the Polynesian, and I was very impressed. It's on the monorail which was really nice with five kids ages six and under to take care of. The Polynesian Resort is huge with several buildings on the property. Each building (they call them longhouses) is the size of a small hotel itself. Our building was close to the monorail, parking lot, and the bus stop.

The rooms had a lot of space although not a lot of storage for five people in one room.



On Saturday we took it easy and spent time unpacking. That evening we met up with some family members and ate at T-Rex in Downtown Disney. Emmy loved it. Dinosaurs are her new favorite animals. There's a Build A Bear in T-Rex, and we thought that would be a fun treat. For a while, Emmy refused to even put down the boxes because she was so proud of the dinosaur she made.

Downtown Disney has a huge Lego store. The girls quickly found a table with Lego pieces and started making little people.

We had said our goodbyes to our Florida family and headed back to the hotel. The girls had a difficult time going to sleep that night because they were so excited about going to one of the parks the next day.
