Maddy absolutely loved school last week. I spoke with her teacher towards the end of the week and she said Maddy was doing well, just very quiet. I told her this is typical for Maddy--very quiet at first so she can check out the situation, but she'll gradually open up more as she gets to know the teacher and the other kids.
She's had a lot of new experiences--bought her own lunch a few times, tried some new foods, made a couple of new friends,and today she rode the bus for the first time. She sat right behind the driver and next to one of her neighborhood friends. She's super-excited about getting to go on the bus tomorrow. It's amazing how little it takes to make kids happy.
