Here's the conversation I had with Maddy after we got back home from Freddie's soccer game. Maddy's comments are in black, mine are in green.

"Mommy, only girls are bosses."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes. Emmy's a baby girl boss, I'm a kid girl boss, and you're a mommy girl boss."

"OK, so what does that mean?"

"It means that I can do whatever I want."

"You think so?"

"Yes. You're going out tonight so that means I'm the boss."

"But what about Daddy?"

"Daddy has to do what I tell him to and that means I'm going to watch a movie because I'm. The. Boss."
