Christmas Pictures

This was definitely a terrific Christmas for us. Maddy was in full Santa mode, and we were looking forward to another little girl to join us soon. Maddy was asking all kinds of questions about Santa, including wanting to know if he lived at the house down the street because they had a picture of him projected on their house. It was fun to see her get so excited about everything.

On Christmas Eve, Madalynn picked out cookies to leave for Santa.

She decided that Santa would like water more than milk. We left the water and cookies by the Christmas tree so Santa would be sure to find them.

The next morning, Santa had left a lot of presents for Maddy under the tree. She could hardly wait to come downstairs. She sat in front of the gate upstairs until we were ready to come down, and then she just stood in the living room for a few minutes staring at the tree.

We spent some time opening presents. Maddy had to check out each one before moving on to the next one.

She got books, some Little People playsets, a camera, an easel with a lot of art supplies, and a desk. She has plenty to keep her entertained for a while.

The one thing Madalynn asked for almost every time you asked her what she wanted for Christmas was a pink princess cake. So Santa made sure to bring one. The last thing we did that morning was sit down to eat cake for breakfast.

What Santa didn't realize is that Maddy wasn't really interested in the cake part of the cake. She just wanted the icing.

The rest of the morning was spent watching a 2 1/2 year old run around the house hyped up on pure sugar.

At noon, Freddie's parents, his sister Lisa, his brother Bryan, and Bryan's wife Emily joined us to open some more presents and to play with Maddy's gifts. Madalynn was dressed up in her Christmas dress and looked like a little princess herself. Freddie's cousin Jason stopped by for a little while before he had to go to work. Later we went over to Freddie's Aunt Nancy's house for dinner with her, her two sons Connor and Logan, and Freddie's grandparents.

And finally, here are some pictures that Maddy has taken with her camera. She has taken it with her several places and can tell you everything about it, in "toddler-speak" of course. She's actually doing a really good job taking care of it and she loves to take pictures of anything and everything around the house.
