Gigi's 80th Birthday

Freddie's grandmother (Gigi to my kids) had her 80th birthday on Friday. We celebrated with family on Saturday at his parents' house in Round Rock. The kids played outside while everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather. It's not often that all of Gigi and Poppy's kids are able to get together so it was great to see everyone.

Gigi was born in 1930 in the middle of the Great Depression. She was in grade school during World War II and only a couple of years out of high school during the Korean War. She has seen the invention of the microwave oven, the introduction of the credit card, and she has listened to music on everything from records and transistor radios to 8 tracks, cassette tapes, and CD's. She was alive for the assassinations of JFK and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She was alive when man first stepped onto the moon.

She has lived a fabulous life full of family and friends. She raised four children and has been blessed with many grandchildren and now great-grandchildren, all of whom love her very much.
