In the main building there's an area where kids can lift up fake rocks to see what's underneath and crawl inside a "cave". Emmy found a sign that had pictures of snakes on it. She was absolutely fascinated.
Next we walked around the center to check out all the animals. The animals housed here have either been rescued from mistreatment, found injured and nursed back to health, or donated by people who could no longer take care of them. They are technically wild animals but because of human intervention cannot live in the wild on their own anymore.
We skipped the sand pit and headed to Zilker Park for lunch. Maddy and her friend Kaitlyn had fun watching the swimmers in Barton Springs Pool. We also took the train ride around the park and let the kids play on the fantastic playscape at the park.
